The Super Pee Wee State Wrestling Championship is Iowa’s PREMIER pee wee state wrestling tournament. Hosted by Waverly Area Wrestling Club, this event boasts approximately 1,000 registered Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade and youth wrestlers each year. We are the longest continuously running Pee Wee State Tournament in our state, with over two decades of experience encouraging competition in youth wrestling. Spectator attendance soars into the thousands over the course of two days and our stands are packed to watch some of the best youth wrestling that our state has to offer.
Super Pee Wee State, or SPW as we fondly refer to it, is traditionally held the first weekend of March. Located in Waterloo, our event is held at Young Arena over looking the lazy waters of the Cedar River. These facilities offer a family-friendly environment with plenty of seating, delicious concessions, and many amenities within walking distance.
If you’re looking for stellar competition for your young athlete or if you are seeking to introduce your pee wee wrestler to competing in larger venues, our tournament is a great place to begin their road to excellence.
We look forward to seeing you and your family at this year’s Super Pee Wee State Wrestling Championship!
